Jack Red reviews Sonic Adventure

Today I wanted to review one of my personal favorite games of all time: Sonic Adventure. Now I'm going to review the original Sega Dreamcast version because that's the one I'm the most familiar with. It got released on the same day alongside the movie (?) and was on one of Sega's most popular consoles: Dreamcast.

The music has some great songs such as the opening, Sonic and Game theme, and so on. The graphics does show what the console can do, especially watching those rememberable cut scenes. This was the first 3D main game of the series that sold the most on the console while being as one of the best selling Sonic games in history.

You can play as multiple characters in the game, each with their own branching storyline: Sonic has the high speed platforming from the other game which was done right; Tails does a lot of racing with Sonic as they go up against Dr. Robotnik in the final race to beat him to the missile. Amy gets chased by Zero all through her story line that leads up to one of the easiest boss fights in the series. E-102 Gamma was the shooter, now he was fun to play as, I did wish he had tougher bosses to face. Knuckles has the treasure hunting storyline where you must search for the Chaos Emeralds and pieces of the Master Emeralds. Big the Cat, to be honest I didn't like playing as him very much.

The story takes place after Sonic & Knuckles where Dr. Robotnik just unleashed Chaos torying to take over the world, however Sonic and his friends are going to stop him before it's too late. After you beat all their story lines you will unlock the final story that can be replayed as many times as you want. Now I like the level designs a lot though it could've been better with some of the other characters.

You can replay all the levels to get every goal in the game mastered which won't be easy to accomplish. You can get upgraded which does help out in the long run though some characters do have hidden ones to find. The problem with this was mainly Tails and Knuckles having some upgrades in the dream world that can be lost forever if not found.

You can unlock a few mini games such as the flying levels and the bumber cars, all of whiuch give the game more variety. I do like how you can talk to people in the game now at the time no one expected that to be in a Sonic game. I love exploring the game because it actually feels like you're in an world: you can do pretty much anything (almost).

The gamea good variety of bosses such as Egg Viper, Perfect Chaos and E-101 MK2 all of which give you a unique challenge. I also like that you can play as Super Sonic at the end of the game.

In conclusion this was one of my favorite Sonic games and I want it to get the respect it deserves.
