Jack Red presents AVGN vs. HVGN done right....
It all started with James Rolfe when he started making his videos under the name The Angry Nintendo Nerd at first he didn't upload them to YouTube until a couple of his friends convinced him to.
Mike Matei a close friend and often appears on the show actually convinced him to do a fourth episode after his original trilogy.
By that time ScrewAttack USA noticed him and turn his show into one of their three original ones when they first started.
Ever since then his show has changed it's title to The Angry Video Game Nerd that became widely known on the internet that inspired many people including myself and Derek Alexander aka The Happy Video Game Nerd.
I asked Derek in an internet live chat about how he started his show and he basically said while everyone was focusing on being angry and reviewing bad games he figured to do the opposite.
He plays a character that usually is happy in his videos that plays games that deserves some more respect.
Eventually Retrowaretv found out about his videos and ask him to join ever since has been making some great reviews.
They both review games that are known through many gamers while wearing similar clothes to each other.
Here's is a list up to date of the games they reviewed that were from my past...
The Angry Video Game Nerd
------------------------------
Sega CD
Independence Day
Shaq Fu
Super Mario Bros. 3 (A fucked up joke one)
Superman 64
Batman Forever
X-Men (Sega Genesis)
The Happy Video Game Nerd
------------------------------
Rocket Knight Adventures
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
D2
Before I go on I would like to say James also reviewed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III which was a bad movie from my child hood now he actually made it two episodes long review wow man.
Sadly he didn't have copy rights to the footage meaning only on Screwattack's website you can watch both episodes.
The Angry Video Game Nerd usually reviews bad games though he did do some good games with not reviewed in details modern games such as Godzilla games.
The Happy Video Game Nerd usually reviews good games that didn't caught on for numerous reasons though he did review some games released online such as Rocket Knight and Mega Man games.
I honestly think both of these guys are talented reviewers that everyone should get into since they're so on point no matter which game they are reviewing.
I believe James did start reviewing games not released here season 4 while Derek just did one called Sweet Home which was an awesome game.
The Angry Video Game Nerd started out as an web series but last I heard they begin airing his show censored on an channel.
The Happy Video Game Nerd is just an web series though I felt it's more worth watching then the later Nostalgia Critic videos.
Derek also said that he would like to cross over with James for an video though no one knows when that would happe since James has become so busy with a lot of stuff.
Yes I do know both of them and I was inspired by James though I will give the credit due to Derek since his idea of an character was a gem.
You see most people who got inspired by James like myself focused on the anger and reviewing some bad games but he decided to do the opposite that ultimately payed out wow.
So in an sense Derek's character is a gem among those who are inspired by James that's almost as good as him.
I would bring up the controlversiality between The Irate Gamer and The Angry Video Game Nerd but that would be pointless since a large number of people keep calling Chris Bores a rip off.
I also know The Irate Gamer and he's a nice guy that loves feedback that could inspire him to do better.
Alright fuck it I am going to bring it up real fast so I will feel better later for remembering to include it.
Chris works on multiple shows including two Irate Gamer shows so he too is a very busy man that's very creative with the special effects.
I would like to say that he is his own boss meaning there's no way either of his shows can get canceled unless he decides to end them wow what power.
The Irate Gamer is an web series that reviews bad games which goes by seasons unlike Derek's show though he did say he is going to release some episodes on dvd.
Irate Gamer Neo is a very short show about reviewing newer games which I found him surprisingly more on point on this one.
Here is games he reviewed that are from my child hood as they follow down below...
1. Zombies Ate My Neighbors
2. Contra
3. Cool Spot
I will be honest that I hated his review of Zombies Ate My Neighbors but I love Derek's since it was so accurate about the game.
The Irate Gamer did review recently Cool Spot which was a game from my child hood though I felt he could've said it plays like the Vectorman games.
James was asked about this issue and he said to fuck those who kept criticizing Chris for his work that does come close.
I will give that man some respect because he goes out of his way to make sure his shows go on no matter what the fuck happens.
I hope you guys like my blog entry and I will be posting two reviews from an union on here that are quite good.

Jack Red presents He who laughs last best winner
Hi everyone this is Jack Red, I felt bad for not noticing Fe94's He who laughs last best competiton on his Joker union because I am a big fan of the character.
Let me tell you what's it is about now it puts every Joker against each other until we have one left standing after eleven rounds.
It isn't like Gamespot's Greatest Competiton where they put all of these match ups to vote in a set number of days no he puts up one match for each round instead.
That's a good idea though I am not sure how long you can vote in those polls before they decide to go to the next round.
Anyway it just ended today with Joker from Batman: The Animated Series beating The Dark Knight one which made me happy because how could you go wrong with that Joker.
That version of the character is known as the greatest animated Joker of alll time while Heath Ledger recently beat Jack Nicholson's version for the best live action Joker.
I know most people with myself included voted Joker from Batman: The Animated Series because they watched it at some point in their chld hoods.
I believe his performance in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was amazing in fact I got to be honest I like it more than The Dark Knight.
The Joker was in plenty of episodes that entertains me every time I see it and I love his laugh more than most versions of the character.
He has Harley Quinn with many weapons that may look harmless that are pretty dangerous plus he wants Batman to consider him the greatest criminal in Gotham City.
I do like a lot of the Jokers in this competition but I couldn't agree more why Joker in Batman: The Animated Series beat Heath Ledger's.
By the way Fe94 if you see this thank you for making this though I wish I could've been more a part of it and love that Joker hahahahaha.
I hope you guys enjoy and soon I will write some more blogs on my other blog though at the moment I got to hold off on one.

Jack Red presents Top 5 Horror Movie Killers
There are the killers I really enjoy watching from time to time and I won't be including anything that's in numerous movies such as Vampires or Zombies.
So I hope you enjoy my list because I will be speaking from the heart which I been trying to do for awhile.
5. Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th series
Jason is simply awesome because nothing can kill him no matter what they try like getting him set on fire or blown up to pieces.
He's known for delivering some of the most gruesome murders even in horror movie such as crushing a man's head in.
The main reason Jason didn't score higher on my list was because he was in three bad movies in a row that a lot of fans hate to even this day.
4. Michael Myers from Halloween series
My brother loves Michael Myers and I love the movies though it's a fact Michael wasn't in Halloween III.
I thought he was more creative than Jason when he came to killing people plus it's a mystery how he survives like getting hang didn't work.
I do like Rob Zombie's remake of the first movie a lot though he could've did better with the second one.
3. Chucky from Child's Play series
I really like Chucky from my child hood because he's got personality in his movies especially Child's Play 2 and Bride of Chucky.
I also like how he gets killed in the movies despite the fact he isn't in many movies like other horror icons such as Michael Myers
2. Ghost Face from Scream series
I remember wearing that costume hell I was really into that movie like my brother was for Michael Myers.
Wes Craven may not have total control over Freddy but I love what he's doing with Ghost Face now what a original idea this guy got.
A lot of people wear the costume with a voice changer that targets Sidney while basing their murders as if it happen in an horror movie wow.
I like then they toy with people especially asking horror questions then if they answer wrong something bad happens.
It started with a crazy guy and an hardcore horror fan that wanted to become famous for murders inspired by those movies.
By the way I'm excited to hear they are finally making Scream 4 I can't wait to see that when it comes out next year.
1. Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street series
Freddy without question is my favorite horror movie killer of all time I love the movies with the expection of 2 and the remake.
He's got personality that rivals Chucky, Leprechaun and Ghost Face because he kills people in their dreams how sick is that.
The original series has some of the most creative deaths I ever seen in an horror movie such as how Dan dies in A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.
That one reminds me of Mr. Grimm in the Twisted Metal series as well as Ghost Rider though not as bad ass as those.
Freddy was popular enough to host his own horror show which I did seen a little of it and I wish I could see more.
The only reason Freddy beat Ghost Face for the title was because Freddy was such an original villain that not even Ghost Face could top that.

Jack Red reviews The Adventures of Batman and Robin
First up is the version I grew up playing the Genesis version now it can be fun at times to play but the difficulty does go up really high.
The music isn't too bad with the look of the game staying close to what it's based on which is a good thing to have in licensed games.
The story is Mr. Freeze going wild on Gotham City then helps The Joker, Two Face and The Mad Hatter escape to make it harder to stop him.
It plays kinda like Gunstar Heroes and Contra except the difficulty is higher than those games making it one of the hardest on the console.
I do like the level skip code though it just skips parts of the level to help make the game easier for you just not enough to have people playing the fuck out of it.
The levels in this game from what I played were really long in fact the second level has got to be the hardest flying level I ever played in an game.
There's only four levels yet by the way it plays I felt there was more now I found out this was the first game by these developers Clockwork Tortoise.
The controls were okay but they could've been better like the ones used in the SNES version works great.
I didn't like how the villains were used in this game though I do like the option to play the game as Robin which even the SNES version lacked that.
I did like the episode start for each level though not as good as the SNES version which actually looks like the ones used in the episodes.
The regular enemies can add up to the difficulty though a lot of the bosses I faced are really hard like taking on Harley Quinn in that giant robot.
The second level took the difficulty so high that I was lucky enough to beat it I mean you fight so many bosses with one of them having multiple stages.
Really guys you made a game based on that awesome cartoon that's so hard that I must call it the single hardest Batman game I ever played.
In conclusion it's not a bad game it just doesn't compare to the SNES version though it sure harder than Batman Forever on both consoles.
Now I been noticing a lot of Batman fans love the SNES version so I am going to do my best reviewing such a great game.
I found out about this game from an episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd who he recommended this with many Batman games so I figured to check it out.
I believe this was released after Batman Returns on the console made by the same company Konami who made many of my favorite games.
You only play as Batman though at times Robin will help you out now that's how it was on the show.
The dialogue in this game is really good I love reading what the character say especially Batman and The Joker.
There's eight levels compared to the Genesis version which had only half plus they're all fun as hell to play.
This is one of the few Batman games to have wall jumps which isn't used as much as the NES Batman game.
They brought in as many villains as they can that was done right compared to the Genesis version that failed pretty short.
The controls are so much better than most Batman games I played so I got to say I would play
this game non stop in the near future.
You are actually given gadgets that can help you get through the levels now to be honest this was done so much better than the shitty Batman Forever game.
Password system helps out the gamers out because it helps continue the game or bring you back where you are stuck either way Konami knew this was help so why wasn't that in Batman Returns on the same console I don't know.
The difficulty is perfect unlike the Genesis version that almost made me go insane since it's so god damn hard.
The graphics are amazing plus they look even closer to the show than any other version of the game.
I really like the boss fights in this version because it isn't too hard yet too easy so I think Konami did a much better job delivering on giving us good boss fights though I still prefer some of the TMNT boss fights over this game.
Before I go on there isn't many boss fights I would say is better than TMNT in this game but it does have some innovative ones that I love talking about like The Joker on a Roller Coast wow.
My favorite level is without question the seventh level now did you ever wonder how that maze was on the show well you can in this game.
It kinda reminds me of the level in Gunstar Heroes with the board game theme except the bosses are easier and you got freedom where you want to go.
I got to say this was my favorite Batman game from Konami wow it's so damn good game now I wish I had the SNES a little longer before this game came out then I could've played it for a few years.
The Genesis version was a huge disappointment yet the SNES version really brings back memories I have with the show so it wins as the single best game based on that show I ever played.
I hope you guys enjoy it and see all of you later good bye.

Jack Red reviews Batman Forever
Before I start reviewing I wanted to get this out of the way right now Acclaim Entertainment made this then decided to make another game based on the movie released in the arcades.
It did ported to PlayStation, Sega Saturn and PC that did slightly better than the original game done.
Oh I almost forget the one I'm reviewing also been released on SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear and PC with some changes.
Yes I am aware that The Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed the game however he did the SNES version while I'm doing the Genesis version.
So let's get down to it I remember playing my Genesis with numerous games having a couple movie games that aren't good then around the time of the movie my parents got me this game.
It's a fact that the movie didn't do so well though I actually like it a lot considering it's the same director who made such a bad Batman movie.
Anyway I do like it follows the story of the movie quite well which isn't common in bad movie games.
They tried making this different from most beat em ups which it is just so fucking horrible that it hurts my eyes right now just thinking about the frustration I had with the game.
It's a 2D beat em up that uses some stuff from Mortal Kombat including using digitized actors with similar controls.
I do like they got two versions of multiplayer for the story mode though due to most of the levels having so many enemies you have barely any room to move.
I am not going to lie to you guys one of the most frustrating parts of the game is learning the controls especially how to get down in the first couple of levels.
It's funny that one guy answered to get down in the Genesis version you got to bash your button until it happens which is true.
I actually like a few levels in the game such as the one based on the event at the circus Robin worked at and the first level to fight The Riddler.
They did show how cheap they were by making Spice and Sugar only appear once in the entire game with them looking alike.
They appear before fighting Two Face for the first time well I got to be honest I thought Spice was hardest enemy to beat in that level.
You can die by falling in some levels so whose idea was it to simply jump off the train in one of the levels after beating everyone in that part up.
Common sense would tell you to not jump off the train in fact it tells you to just stay on the train to see what happens.
I hate to break it to you but nothing happens after you beat everyone on top of the train until you jump what.
In some good beat em ups you do fight in elevators and trains though why you need to jump off of it makes no sense to me.
That's right all they did is took another sprite of Spice then change the color of her dress from black to white.
It' easy to figure out where to go for the most part however the last level had one of the most frustrating parts of the entire game but I will get to that later in my review.
I do kinda like the music in the game though I really like that Cheat Menu which makes the game more beatable.
My favorite part of the game is Training Mode because it plays like a fighting game which makes it fun I actually remember the good times playing it as a kid.
You can play as Batman, Robin and everybody else in the game that's right even the bosses can be played in this mode wow.
I did find out many years later you need to put in a code to play as The Riddler really why that's like what another team did with the first Power Rangers on the Genesis with the evil Green Ranger.
Wait a minute yeah they're both evil and wear green is there a connection because I don't fucking see it.
The fighting can get frustrating because a lot of your enemies including the bosses cheat especially Big Riddler.
You got to get to six question mark boxes to go to the final area of the game that has three bosses right after each other wow talk about difficulty.
As simple that may sound it took me a few hours to get past that part but the good news is you got plenty of time with no enemies trying to kill you so take all the time you need.
The first of the three final bosses of the game is Two Face now he will be similar to his boss fight except his girl friends aren't there and he can get more health though I don't know how he does that.
Big Riddler is the second to the last boss that fucking cheats though he isn't as hard as Goro or Kintaro are in the Mortal Kombat games.
Just in case you were wondering it's Riddler high on brainwaves transforms into The Hulk now believe it or not this does get worse.
They reused some of their sprites to make this boss fight possible like you can get punched trying to jump kick at the wrong time which both of them got that in common.
He also will jump in the air like Kintaro but come down like Goro which doesn't make any sense to me at all.
He can also throw you after getting knocked down similar to Kintaro though you don't bounce a couple of times which is a good thing for this boss fight.
Everytime you knock him down you got to wait for him to get back up now that's bullshit because that wasn't a problem in the Mortal Kombat games.
I found a way to beat him without taking too many hits now what I did was kept jump kicking his ass real fast until he transforms back to his old self.
He is how he was in the other levels except he doesn't spawn a henchman to help him this time making it the easiest boss of the entire game what a joke.
Dr. Chase Meridian does appear after you beat The Riddler for the last time then here comes the shitty ending.
I really like the movie more than this no good piece of bat shit now what the fuck were they thinking.
The game is really hard with the enemies having terrible programming especially in later levels where you can lose most of your life in matter of a few minutes.
I am so happy that I don't got to play this mother fucking game ever again because to me it was an insult to the movie maybe the entire Batman community as a whole.
